      <image:title>What We Do - More About Us</image:title>
<image:caption>The Mic Check Initiative has a goal to make the arts accessible to all students. We believe that the most effective way to do this is by actively impacting the legislative process. Our mission is to generate support for the campaigns of politicians who are willing to stand up for young artists, and make our voices heard. We will do this through partnerships with youth theatres, fundraising events, and awareness campaigns, and we’d love your help. Join us now!</image:caption>

<image:title>What We Do - What is a Political Action Committee?</image:title>
<image:caption>A Political Action Committee, or PAC, is an organization that generates support for political candidates, or individual policy. The goal of a PAC is to impact the way voters vote, in order to create change. The Mic Check Initiative is a PAC whose gaol it is to get candidates who are going to support the arts in our schools elected. Do you wanna help us? Get involved! <image:title>Anti-Racism in the Arts - Land Acknowlegement</image:title>
<image:caption>The Mic Check Initiative, which is based in St. Paul, Minnesota, understands and acknowledges that we are located on the traditional lands of the Wahpekute people, as well as the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ people. We thank these people for the love that they bestowed upon this land, and we thank this land for the gifts it has given us. We also look forward to listening to and learning from the Indigenous activists in order to create more equitable arts education for all people. Since The Mic Check Initiative engages with people from all around the United States, and we are primarily gathering virtually during this pandemic, we encourage all of our website’s visitors to learn more about the Indigenous land that they currently occupy, and think about how we can best advocate for and learn from Indigenous communities. <image:title>Anti-Racism in the Arts - Anti-Racist Arts Statement</image:title>
<image:caption>The Mic Check Initiative recognizes that in America, whiteness has been prioritized within the arts for far too long. This is why it is one of our main focuses to make sure communities of predominantly BIPOC receive the same quality arts education as their white counterparts. The Mic Check Initiative is also committed to making sure that we only contribute to, or support, politicians, and legislation that will not harm BIPOC communities and people. We encourage you to click the link below, where you will find articles to read, podcasts to listen to, and much more to help work towards anti-racism.</image:caption>
